Alford Hub was launched in March 2020 as the Covid 19 Information and Support Hub.
It is a registered charity, run by volunteers. Alford Hub has the following teams: Prescription delivery for the housebound, free school uniform and baby bank, hospital discharge teams, emergency practical support team, befriending team, health support teams, Ukrainine refugee support teams, Outreach and Wellbeing team, Peer to Peer support groups, Mental Health support, Debt and Benefit signposting and many other services.
Alford Hub also runs the official Citizen Signposting and Community Information Point for Alford and a six mile radius.
Within the Citizen signposting area in both of the sites, there is a "Hot Desk."
This is where personnel from statutory organisations can arrange to conduct an appointment with you away from your home.
The trained volunteers at both sites, will be able to help you fill in forms, access the internet and help you access help on to debt, benefits and financial signposting. They will be able to help you or signpost you on to local services and groups who can help you further.
Photocopying and printing services are also available from Alford Hub Offices, above the library.
Alford Hub is also the Offical Friends against Scams Trading Standards organisation for Alford and a six mile radius. Many of the volunteers have been trained by Trading standards to assist, help you identify and report scams.
Alford Hub has a strong Facebook group, which runs daily virtual toddler sessions and regular virtual coffee and chats. The Facebook group is run as a virtual community centre and other charities often use the platform to reach the Alford community.
