Alford Windmill Renovations.

Officers from East Lindsey District Council and Lincolnshire County Council are working hard to transfer the asset of the Five Sail Windmill, Cafe and Miller's Cottage to Alford Town Council. It is hoped that the transfer is completed in Spring 2023.

Lincolnshire County Council will be responsible for ensuring that the mechanical restoration of the Windmill has been completed prior to the change of ownership.

The Alford Windmill Trust is a charity set up to run the Windmill as a going concern.  The Trust will lease the Windmill from Alford Town Council for the day to day running of the site and Cafe. Their board of Trustees have a wealth of experience, running rural and historic concerns. Several members of  Alford Town Council sit on the board, and they report back any developments to the full Council every month.
